Eileen Wynne PhD, LCSW, is a Louisiana licensed psychotherapist and life coach. She maintains a private practice in uptown New Orleans, conveniently located only walking distance from Audubon Park, Tulane University and Loyola University.
Eileen's depth of knowledge and understanding, along with her 25 years of mental health experience, allow her to work with a wide range of individuals.
Having served for over a decade on the staff of Ochsner Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Nephrology, Eileen’s clinical experience runs the gamut from treating simple psycho-social adjustment issues to treating severe, chronic mental illness and counseling persons dealing with psychological aspects of life-threatening medical conditions. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of clinical interventions including individual psychotherapy and group psychotherapy.
Her 16 years of experience in college mental health fostered a special affinity for working clinically with young adults. Under her guidance, she has assisted students to learn how to develop meaningful relationships, set realistic goals, resist negative peer pressure and make wise lifestyle and career choices.
In her psychotherapy practice, some issues she commonly assists clients with include: transitioning from high school to college; transitioning from college student to emerging adulthood, academic concerns, career and business issues, health challenges, divorce, grief; relocation; retirement and interpersonal/relationship issues.
Eileen helps her clients understand the reality that while life crises may be inevitable, it is often from the depths of despair that life calls us to rearrange our priorities and address anxious and depressive reactions that often come with change. She provides hope that there is life after loss and helps her clients find their innate strength to heal. Through the process of therapy and life coaching, Eileen’s clients begin to not only envision the next chapter in their lives, but become active in writing and living those chapters.
Eileen was formerly an adjunct professor at Tulane University. She also leads workshops and offers consultation to high schools in the New Orleans area on the topic of successfully navigating and adjusting to the transition from high school to college life. Eileen is a certified life coach who specializes in helping individuals with academic challenges and post college stressors.
Eileen received her PhD from Tulane University School of Social Work and her doctoral dissertation, " Trauma and Transformation" was a prodiuct of her extensive research in the fields of trauma and resiliency.
